FAQs

Do you have a mailing list that I can subscribe to?
We do! Just fill out our sign up form to get added.

What is in a box of produce?
You will receive a variety of seasonally grown produce with every delivery.  Some examples of produce that will be available will include fruits such as  strawberries, blackberries, melons and heirloom tomatoes. Vegetables will include varieties of broccoli, cauliflower, cabbages, kohlrabi, kale, greens and lettuces.   Many delicious roots will be grown such as beets, carrots, radishes, turnips, etc.  Sweet corn will also be available along with squash, peas, beans, cucumbers, old world potatoes and peppers.   Many herbs, onions, garlic and shallots are also being grown.   There are other items available that aren’t listed here, so if you have any growing requests or inquires please send us an email at steelwheelfarm@gmail.com.

How often will I get a delivery?
Members can sign up for either weekly (4 boxes/month) or bi-weekly (2 boxes/month) deliveries.

What forms of payment do you accept? You can either pay online through Paypal or send a check to Steel Wheel Farm. If you prefer to pay by check, please mail to P.O Box 311 Fall City , WA 98024.

Where do you deliver? Delivery depots will be set up depending on member locations. Pick ups on-site at the farm are also welcome on box packing day! We will also be selling produce at farmer’s markets later this year. Check back for details in May.

What happens if I won’t be able to pick up my box? When you sign up as part of a CSA, you are making a commitment to the farmer for the whole season and he/she is making a commitment to you. If for some reason you are unable to receive your delivery for the week, you may make arrangements for someone else to pick up your box for you. THERE ARE NO CANCELLATIONS. If you can not make arrangements for someone else to pick up your box, you will still be charged for that week of produce.

What do I do if i am going to be out of town? Pass your box on to a friend or a neighbor or we can donate your box to a food bank.

What do I do with my box?
On your scheduled delivery day, place your box out at the drop-off point where they can be picked up and reused for future deliveries.
DO NOT THROW YOUR BOX AWAY!

What do I do if I don’t know what to do/prepare/store a particular type of produce?
Email the farmers (of course!) at steelwheelfarm@gmail.com.
